Image was created as a partner piece for Jesse Waldman's music concert that I produced in my art studio. Work has been purchased and given as a gift to Waldman by his friends. The imagery reflects my interest in abstract expressionism and common interests in themes including crows, East Vancouver and mental health. Other subjects reflected in Waldman's work are light and shadow, compassion, vulnerability, vastness, softness and contrast. I was inspired to make a connection to something abstract and architectural, referencing East Vancouver. The result is a Franz Kline-inspired power line with a crow in flight. The dots represent me and joy; my cirlcles are inspired by Yayoi Kusama. Behind it all, and barely visible at completion, is a misty seascape looking out towards Stanley Park.
