I'll Meet You There is part of my Sewn Open Series embodying a kintsugi-inspired philosophy. This work uniquely pushes the opening idea further as the slice covers the painting’s entire height. The loose canvas is rolled back (subtly representing a boat’s mainsail) and supported with gold foiled string (equal width to the frame). An ocean and arid landscape are juxtaposed, and a cut out canvas reveals a surreal view into a delightful, surprising place. The work is an invitation to slow time down, experience serenity, universality and wonder, and reimagine the future.

Out beyond ideas of
wrongdoing and rightdoing
there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
