Blue Grace and another work, Purest Pleasure (sold) were selected by Jen Tough Gallery, New Mexico, to be published in Fun Size. Fun Size is a curated collection small art works from various international artists.
My embroidery has roots in long family line of creative women including my great-grandmother who made bobbin lace. This forest-inspired piece represents a cellular dissection of a pine tree. It was embroidered by hand with primarily with a single thread over many hours and weeks.
Blue Grace is part of my Ageless and Evergreen series, initially inspired by dear friend and collector, Bob Blackburn. His favorite Barbara Streisand song is Evergreen and forests are important to me.
