The Shining Bronze Cuckoo is a shy bird, more often heard rather than seen - in fact I only realised it existing very recently myself, despite them being relatively common where I live.
They are insectivorous, favouring many species that other birds avoid, especially hairy caterpillars. They have a special thick, soft lining in their gizzard that catches the hairs, they fall away and are spat out by the bird.
