The Pincushion Hakea (Hakea Laurina) is a unique Australian native flower with a distinct and unusual shape. A globe of red colour with narrow, white "pins", they're fascinating at every stage from bud to full flower. Even as the flower ages, the pin colour changes from white to pink. Leaves sprout straight from the flower head and the flowers form straight onto the stems. There's nothing quite like them.
