Miss Pittsburgh
Miss Pittsburgh is an original 1927 Waco 9 Aircraft with an OX-5 engine. The plane flew the first Airmail Flight on April 21st, 1927- from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Cleveland, Ohio. Originally owned and piloted by aviation pioneer Clifford Ball, the aircraft was later owned by Martin Horan in the 1990s.
This object is a relatively small sized aircraft, with a primarily blue and white color palette. The words “U.S. Mail” can be seen written on the side of the plane in black, with the name “Miss Pittsburgh” in white at the front. The aircraft features a propeller, wheels, and two open seats.
