Artist statement
I need color in my world. I am inspired by nature, architecture, and travel. I started painting when I was young and wanted to go to college to study art but was steered in another direction. I always worked in a creative field, where I could use my hands, and the resulting work was a visual expression of my creativity. I always said, when I retire, I will paint and have been painting for the past 5 years. I am an intuitive artist; I rarely plan the outcome of any work. My work is on both canvas and paper. My creative process usually starts with collage, I work from there using various mediums, acrylic, oil pastel, acrylic ink.
