"Interlude" is a reflection on Shane's inner life rather than as a likeness with icons of his life as a director, writer, cinematographer and editor. Shane has worked on both sides of the camera from iconic Australian Max Max films to his own creations debuted at Cannes, as well as Hollywood blockbusters. A critical aspect of creativity is the need for time out to allow for deeper thoughts and ideas to develop without the spotlight of attention or expectation. I have tried to capture the quiet moment before potential develops and bursts into another phase of creative output.
