The reclining woman has often been portrayed in art. Here I am not referencing any of them. In this painting I was just interesting in a relaxing position, sensual serenity, giving in to the moment. It’s not about beauty or a perfect body. She is there for herself. We cannot see her face, but it might be that she watches us through her hair.
