This painting refers to a song of Bob Dylan with the same title.
Have you ever read the lyrics to Bob Dylan’s song Just Like a Woman? If anything, it is a very ambivalent declaration of love. The two of them can’t come together; it’s as if a kind of curse lies over the whole thing. His female counterpart is supposed to realize that she is just like all the others, with her amphetamine, her pearls, and the fog in her head.
In this work, the female side comes to the forefront: there stands a woman with strong hands, though she doesn’t yet know exactly what she will do with them. Beside her lies an entire scattered, feminine world of objects, fragments, and notes that remain indistinct and not clearly identifiable.
