Enchanted Forest marks a transformative moment in my artistic journey, as it is one of the first works created using the cold wax medium. I was initially drawn to cold wax for its liberating qualities, which break free from the traditional rules of oil painting. Its unique characteristics—such as translucency, texture, and enhanced drying time—offer new possibilities for expression and exploration. This is a thrilling time for me, discovering the subtle beauty and versatile potential of cold wax. What began as an impulsive purchase of my first jar of cold wax in early 2024 has blossomed into an exciting new adventure in my artistic process.

Through practice and learning, I have come to embrace this medium as a tool for creating deeper, more atmospheric layers in my work.

Enchanted Forest is a reflection of that discovery—a painting that captures a sense of escape, mystery, and the adventure that nature provides. The bright, warm colors in this piece are a celebration of my long-standing fascination with the beauty and mystery of trees. To me, trees are living wonders—anatomically intricate and capable of so many life-sustaining feats. Just as we humans are made up of many interconnected parts working in harmony, trees possess their own kind of superhuman strength. They purify our air, provide shade, fruits, and wood, reduce stress, and even offer a sanctuary to wildlife. Trees are our silent companions, doing so much without asking for anything in return.

When I look at trees, I often feel transported to another world, where time slows and my thoughts drift into a peaceful, contemplative space. The trees in Enchanted Forest evoke that sense of calm, inviting the viewer to step into a world where nature holds the power to soothe and inspire.

I hope this painting captures that quiet magic—the way trees can carry us away into realms of tranquility and wonder.
This painting is not just a visual expression of my love for nature, but also a reflection of my personal journey with the cold wax medium. It is an exciting and humbling adventure to uncover new ways of working, and Enchanted Forest stands as both a milestone and a tribute to that ongoing exploration.
