A Photographic Purist, Smid captures light using a weathered 1974 Deardorff 8 x 10 wood camera creating spellbinding images of the Canadian Landscape. Ron Smid discovered his passion for landscape photography during solo canoe excursions to the rugged Canadian Shield of Northern Ontario. At the age of 26, he set out on what was to be the first of many photographic expeditions across Canada with the goal of capturing quintessential imagery on traditional colour transparency film. He is a purist and uses no post digital production and is one of the few photographers dedicated to working exclusively with the now discontinued 1963 analog Cibachrome colour process in collaboration with master printer, Michael Wilder. Limited Edition of 25. Large Silver Gelatin Print, developed in the darkroom by the artist.
