Seldom do you see the Karoo as green as this. Most of the landscape, most of the time is shrouded in the typical blueish greys of dry season Karoo fynbos, or the umbery amber grassland hues of a dry Karoo.
Then early summer rains arrive... and something magical happens... almost overnight. Blueish greys transform into summery olive greens. Purples yellows and violets sprout in bursts of muted colour as Karoo fynbos flowers come to life.
Life comes to an arid landscape!
