A large part of Haiti's daily economy is fueled by the local street vendors where life's necessities are bought and sold. In this quilt, vendors and customers do business in the cool of a beautiful tree. Pieces and scraps of cotton fabrics are treadle-machine pieced, hand-appliquéd and hand quilted. Sleeve on reverse for hanging. A copy of the exhibition catalogue Patience To Raise the Sun is included with purchase.
