This charming quilt illustrates the Haitian proverb, 'A leaky roof may fool the sun, but can not fool the rain.' How true that is! The landscape is dotted with 'ti kay', typical country houses, with swaying trees and the sun shining overhead. Treadle-machine pieced of 100% cotton, with hand appliqué, embroidery and quilting. Sleeve on reverse for hanging. A complementary copy of Patience To Raise the Sun exhibition catalogue included with purchase. This quilt was featured in this exhibition, as well as in a special exhibit at the 2017 Houston International Quilt Festival.
