"COLLECTIVE GRIEF" Series - Works created during this Pandemic

SAVE THE DATE! 9/4 NEW SERIES

Hello,

I am very excited to share with you my latest series of works that I have been working during these past months. On Friday 9/4 I will be releasing a small series of works inspired by our collective experience during this pandemic. It’s about loss, grief, healing and strength.

Why “Collective Grief”?

Within the past months, everything has changed. At times it feels like our world is upside down, and we are all trying to adapt to this new normal. There are number of ways we can feel a sense of loss right now. The loss of a loved one may often be the main catalyst for grief. But, you may not have lost someone close to you, and still there may be a number of ways you may be grieving something right now (the loss of human contact, freedom, control, protection, job and financial loss, the loss of a project, dreams or activity that was important to you, etc.)

As Frank Ostaseski mentions: “The future is uncertain and there is a perceived loss of safety. We know that some of the losses are temporary but it doesn't feel that way. All of these reactions to loss are faces of grief.”

I wanted to make a collection of works that addressed this shared experience, as a way of connecting your loss, my loss, our loss. This collection is about naming and acknowledging what we have gone through as a collective, in order to move on, find healing and meaning to this experience.

If you want to get early access to this collection and know more about, please visit my website and sign up to my list at https://www.paulavalenzuelaart.com or email me at [email protected].

Thanks,

Paula
