The Fungal Duke, Mykos, strolls through his garden in customary good spirits, head full of plans for the evening's festivities. He's a little arrogant, a bit entitled (he is a duke, after all), and perhaps not entirely trustworthy. He is beloved of a massive kaleidoscope of butterflies who distract him with their vibrant cyclone of color. They vouch for him, and that says quite a bit.
The "Portraits of the Unknown" series take inspiration from northern European portraiture, adapted to the medium of paper. Created with Japanese washi and chiyogami papers, these pieces bring a contemporary sensibility to a traditional art form. Thematically, these pieces give face to the faceless and often unfathomable facets of the natural world that surround us.
