I painted this while staying with my daughter in Calcutta. We had just finished a week-long tour in Kerala, India and were taking a break before continuing on to the next phase--a trip to Bhutan and Nepal. I was trying to capture the diverse sights and senses that I was experiencing while keeping a sense of fun. Hence, my title "Calcutta Whimsey"
