Pines at Bonneiux

Bonneiux is a hilltop town in the Luberon, a region in the south of France. This scene was painted at the very top of the hilltop by the ancient town church and a park that covered the entire side of the hill. I was struck by the shape of the wind blown pines and found a quiet spot to paint the trees and the park plants by them.
