Patricia grew up in Bellport, a small village on the south shore of Long Island NY, and never wanted to be anything other than an artist.
Message
Some of the artists who exhibited and taught with me at the 2012 Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition, who are also friends, were invited to exhibit, jury, and do demonstrations at the Beijing Quilt Festival in 2015. We met and formed a group of 8 called The Bing Bing Sisters and then planned to do a traveling exhibition with each of us creating a work to memorialize our experiences in Beijing.
Colorful Memory combines my love for architecture, travel, color, and cultural depictions of the natural world. Though the colors are exaggerated and the scene is flattened, this is based on the wall paintings on the inside of the boat we rode in on the lake at the Summer Palace.
