This painting is called "evolution", as it reflects my evolution as a woman and as a painter. I have been evolving from an identity primarily as a Psychologist to one that includes and embraces being an artist. As I did so, I wanted to go big. This was the first large painting on unstretched canvas that I ever made and it went through countless iterations. Thus, again, the title "evolution". Where we end up in life and where a painting ends up is the culmination of luck and planning, along with twists and turns no one could predict. The result is surprising and illuminating.
