Portrait of Monique - in monochromatic watercolor. Most of my portrait work is in watercolor. I love that it moves on its own. I plan the painting in pencil first. Getting the shapes and the feeling established. And then I only have so much control. The color and water work with me (and sometimes against me) to share the feeling I want the portrait to have. I love the moodiness of this one. Monique is one of my favorite models to paint.
