Jurors Select Artworks from Eleanor’s 2020 Vision into A History Of …

Into this exhibit, jurors selected two artworks by Pat Cross, original pen and ink drawings from her latest series, Eleanor’s 2020 Vision. The first one, titled Waving Stars and Stripes, honors our military veterans who contributed much to the freedoms we enjoy today. The second one, Ahead of Her Time, celebrates the impact of Eleanor Roosevelt’s design of this small town in West Virginia named Eleanor.

“When I consider the benefits that I enjoy due to the work and generosity of others, I stir with gratitude,” says Pat Cross. “Although I cannot repay those who have passed, I most certainly can bring honor to their memory through well-crafted and thoughtful art,” she explains. Pat Cross has worked with the pen and ink medium for several decades with some artworks earning national awards.

Each of the pen and ink drawings in this exhibit, A History Of… set in a crisp white double matt with a black liner, and mount in a 16” x 20” ebony wood frame. The artworks are wired and ready to hang in your home, office, or anywhere you want to be reminded of the contributions others made in your behalf.

These original drawings now display at the David L. Dickirson Fine Art Gallery in Tamarack at the juried show, A History Of…, from January 15 – February 21, 2022. To view or purchase the work, visit the Gallery at One Tamarack Park, Beckley, WV 25801, or reach out to Mandy Lash ([email protected]) or William Radford ([email protected]).

These two pen and ink drawings titled Ahead of Her Time, and Waving Stars and Stripes are each part of a series by Pat Cross called Eleanor’s 2020 Vision. This series is presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
