A Parisian can-can dancer plumps exhausted onto a nearby chair, resting her limbs before the next performance begins. Meanwhile, as she catches her breath, a certain fellow casts a shadow on the stage as he passes by. She spies him intently without his notice such that the tables turn with her as the audience of his anonymous moves. One of a series of award-winning oil paintings on the human form by Pat Cross.
