As the afternoon heat rises, the sound of rippling water entices the hiker off the beaten path to seek refreshment. However, much more than cooler temperatures reward the traveler who discovers a feast for the eyes.
In this painting, the artist layered glazes of oil paint to add luminance to the colors. Some areas are carefully blended while others are applied with a painting knife to set in contrast the rich texture.
Painted on a gallery wrap canvas, the water flows around the 1.5" deep edge and adds more dimension to the piece. The oil painting is sealed with a clear satin UV protective finish for lasting impressions. It is mounted in a solid wood float frame with a blonde finish that brings out the warm highlights of the painting. This piece is wired and ready to hand anywhere you want the refreshment of a mountain stream.
