This painting, "Dahlia Delight" is from one that blossomed in my mother's patio garden and caught my eye with its colorful starburst of mustard yellow, pumpkin orange and ruby red hues. The dahlia bloom carries many cultural meanings often symbolizing creativity, inner strength, change, elegance and dignity. An enduring flower, many gardeners refer to the dahlia as the ‘Queen of the Autumn Garden’ as it blooms for extended periods of time when compared to most other garden plants.

This petite 6" x 6" painting rests on a clear acrylic easel that displays well on any mantel, shelf, counter, alcove or desk. These make for wonderful gifts for those who either garden, wish they did, or even prefer to bring the joy of garden blooms indoors for every season. Collect more than one to create your own indoor garden that lasts for years.

One of a series of award-winning oil paintings on garden blooms by Pat Cross.
