10/10/2022 - Delivered to the Emerging Artists Juried Exhibition in the West Virginia Cultural Center.
In this painting Bearded Beauty I show the bloom from a bee's point of view. The zebra stripes of the petals help guide the bee in towards the pollen not unlike the way that aviation lines guide a flying craft into position for a safe landing. However, in this case, the flower relies on the pollinator to continue the species well into the future.
Painted on a 20" x 20" gallery wrap canvas, this oil painting continues around the nearly 2" deep edge and adds dimension to the piece.
One of a series of award-winning paintings on garden blooms by Pat Cross.
