It was a really nice fall day on the west coast of Michigan when I stopped in South Haven to see the beach. What had been a pretty warm, mostly sunny day turned on a dime. The winds were so stiff they made the seagulls hover in place in midair as they flapped their wings in vain. The waves were crashing onto the pier and it was mesmerizing. I tried to capture the violent beauty of Lake Michigan.
