Sometimes I have a clear picture of what I will paint before I start, and sometimes I only have colors. This painting started off with fire colors (red, orange, yellow). I started from the outermost corners and worked my way toward the middle. Small stroked of the paint brush, circling around the canvas, over and over again. At one point, I thought it might turn into a daisy, but as I started to add the white my thoughts begin to think about fire. Refiner's fire purifies and brings to the surface all impurities so they can be removed. Then you can become stronger, you can trust and you can heal. You have room for what should be, for wholeness and truth.
In a post about the painting, I wrote, "God you are a consuming fire. A devouring fire. Purifying me each day. Burning away the impurities and bringing me into light. Praise you for the fire that purifies."
