Horizons

Horizons has been through many iterations, but has always felt like the ocean and sky to me. I wanted the texture to give a feeling of depth and partial submersion into the water. Depths of water often symbolize the values & meaning of life, while the open sky can represent hope and a future. The horizon line changed many times in the piece and was never quite right, until the addition of the simple line of gold leaf. This finally conveyed the feeling of vastness and possibility that I was looking to convey.
