TATANKA
Tatanka is the Dakota Indian name for Bison.
I started working on animals, birds, and wildlife through my fabric thread art. I like to use an assortment of printed fabrics and threads as my palette to create my own style. I enjoy using the subject inside the object of what I am creating. This is the inner soul of the subject within itself. The fabrics I use are from Tyler’s local fabric shop Crafts & Quilting, Spoonflower (artists’ fabrics) and Karen Nyberg, retired astronaut earth views on fabrics. I am looking forward to creating more of the East Texas wildlife, birds and animals.
Can you spot the Nile River, Brazil Rivers, Taklamakan Dessert and Western Brazil in Tatanka’s body?
