Recently I heard the Lord speak, "Peace like a river." I had been asking the Holy Spirit for words for his people to encourage them. He quickly answered that prayer and led me to this verse:

For thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip, and bounced upon her knees.
(Isaiah 66:12)

The verses surrounding Isaiah 66:12, speak a lot about comfort and restoration. The entire chapter has messages of judgement, hope and restoration. Isaiah 66:12 highlights the future glory of God’s people and the promises He has for them. God identifies with His people, expressing His desire to care for them like a mother cares for her children.
This metaphor highlights the protective and nurturing nature of God’s character. We can see His heart, how He yearns to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of His people. The flow of peace like a river can be understood as part of the transformation process. As we trust and abide in Him, healing and joy will come...He is faithful and keeps every promise.
