- Wood, metal
The materials used in this work were largely salvaged from land within the Beaver Hills area. Each “statue” is primarily constructed from abandoned wood and metal - remnants of past human habitation - which speak to the layered heritage of the region.
The title acknowledges the significance of this site as a historical meeting place for many different peoples over time. It also reflects on the many acts of gathering - of knowledge, of stories, and of materials —from the land itself. This work stands as a reminder of our ongoing relationship with the land, reflecting both our use of and connection to the natural environment.
