Corwin Bell often draws inspiration from Mayan culture. This sacred vessel functions to circulate water, keep it moving, and alive. An egg shape also leaves connotations of the feminine qualities of water. Bell says, "I was influenced by the writings of Rudolf Steiner, and the toroidal movement of water. Normally, water becomes stagnant when it is left to sit in this curved, egg shaped vessel the molecules are able to reconnect and share oxygen. The vessel's convex mold encourages the water to move, rotate, and flow."
