Hanging
- Tractor Seats, Hand Drums
- Eileen Blyth Mark Finley
“Hanging is an invitation to play…to stop and sit and play, or just listen. The sculpture takes the form of five arranged hand drums with seats for users to straddle the drum. Drums are played by tapping on the different areas of the surface. Artists Eileen Blyth and Mark Finley were commissioned by Drip on Main to create a piece that was both interactive and musical, and this piece was the result. It is composed of five individual benches made of tractor seats, with hand drums attached to the base, and when played, the drums all have their own individual tones. They can be played by any passerby at any time.”
