This work depicts me (center) reflecting on the dualities of my 20’s. Arizona to Russia and back. Home feels split in two, three, four.

ARTIST STATEMENT
“Persisted” may not be an adequate word to describe the sheer grit it took to live in Russia from 2013-2015. I was a missionary for a church I am no longer a member of. I was a kid from Arizona trudging through feet of snow, wrapping my tongue around Russian words, trying to win hearts in a land of orthodox. I would never take it back…or do it again.
