The approach to these pieces is to create something new from discarded items. As I cover my canvas with book pages, I read the words, at times the book, and think of the act itself of not discarding the item but reusing it as if to give it life again. At times, I purposely look for a word that speaks to me, in that brief moment, a word I need in my life and perhaps more keep revealing themselves in my story.
