ARTIST: Jaime Quirk

STATEMENT: This quilt is an original work created in March 2020 as a reaction to the anxiety caused by Covid-19. The round designs mimic the Covid-19 spike protein through a traditional Dresden plate. The quilt mimics a weighted blanket and weighs over 10 pounds. This functional work was created to turn fear into something soothing and safe.
