The endangered Northern Spotted Owl is the apex predator in old-growth forests. As the forests are being cut down, the habitat of the Spotted Owl is disappearing, and consequently, so are the Spotted Owls. This sculpture is designed as an interactive peek-through experience and invites the viewer to see the world from the perspective of another being - to share the earth and make sure there is room for all creatures. to live.
Westview elementary Students attended the dedication, where Ms. Woodbury, a longtime Disney employee before becoming a sculptor, had the opportunity to teach the kids about art, preserving old growth forests, and ornithology. The pedestal/base of this sculpture was mad from a tree that was cut down in EB Rains Jr. Memorial Park.
