Bio
Helen Meyrowitz creates bodies of work that reflect her thriving curiosity and passion. She has an extensive exhibition record, with her themed collections marking recent years.

A native New Yorker, in 2002 she relocated with her husband, Sidney Meyrowitz, to a retirement complex in Massachusetts. This move was prompted by the realization that her husband was beginning to show early signs of memory loss, but it also brought her closer to her daughter and grandchildren who reside in a nearby town. By 2008, her husband’s health had deteriorated into later stage Alzheimer’s disease, at which point it became necessary to move him to the skilled nursing facility within their complex. She lost her husband of 60 years in January, 2009.

Meyrowitz holds a Master of Arts degree from Long Island University, C.W. Post campus. Her work has been exhibited (see exhibitions for a full listing) at the Brooklyn Museum, Heckscher Museum, New York State Museum, Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts, Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Portland Museum of Fine Arts. Her work is in the collection of the Delaware Museum, Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts, Islip Museum, Danforth Museum of Art, St. Botolph Club, Higgins Armory Museum, Adelphi University and many private collections.
