- Costume Sketches for "The Swineherd" (King)
- 16.75 x 24.5 in
Costume sketch for the Royal Danish Ballet from the late 1960s/1970s. It depicts the King (left), Prince (middle), HotPot (right) of the fairy tale "The Swineherd" of Hans Christian Andersen, a fellow Dane. The original, multi-colored print with gold inflections had only one owner and it was kept rolled-up in a tube for 40 years.
It measures 24 1/2" x 16 3/4" and was produced by Permild & Rosengreen Denmark on the very best of heavy card stock. The print shows one of Wiinblad's amazing whimsical interpretations of a male figure in an elaborate royal costume in great detail as only he can portray. It carries his signature "Bjorn" on the right hand side and on the left an additional dedication.
