Wind in the Thistles was an experiment that began in 1981. I gessoed a board, and painted on it with watercolor. I loved the finished piece but the intensity of the watercolors got lost in the gesso. I kept it for so long, and finally in 2015 I knew I was ready to finish it. Over the watercolor I just painted with oils, preserving the original drawing and love it now.
