This is a colorful and whimsical doll that stands on a coordinating platform. Cotton fabric body, wool stuffing. Features created with acrylic paint, pigma pen, Prisma color pencils. Lips, eyebrows, lids, flair of nostrils and fingernails hand stitched with Gutterman’s and Sulky thread. Highlight and shadow create depth. Blouse, fully lined skirt are an array of a colorful cotton print, checkerboard and black and white polka dots. The skirt cotton print has strange little birds in the composition, circular cutwork on black felt backed with hand dyed cotton scrim and print print fabric to add texture to the background. Felt baby WhooRa’s and the large Mama WhooRa , circular curls that move in and out of the larger circles create a three dimensional element. Black felt vest, edge of top hat and skirt are encircled by an embroidered pattern of tiny leaves and french knots. Tall wool felt top hat is filled with paper strips to appear to be a nest. Shades of lavender, pink, teal, green and blue baby WhooRa’s birds, live in the hat. The pose of the figure has the girl balancing a baby felt WhooRa on the tip of her finger. Hair is eyelash yarn, frayed twine, mohair and small twigs. Cute fabric shoes coordinate with the dress and apron.
