Japan developed an artform of repairing broken treasures with seams of gold - known as 'kintsugi'. We believe that the people we love are treasures, and are made even more beautiful by the scars and seams that mend them back together.
We started a series of masks exploring this idea - with each one being unique. This one is Kintsugi Princess.

It is a 4 1/2 inch resin mask from a monsterclay sculpture with golden 'repairs' from uv resin during the casting process. Then it was painted with watercolors and pastels and sealed with uv-cut spray. This one has a pressed metal crown and a golden ribbon.
