This doll is balanced to stand on her own, using a “Stump” or “pincushion” style lower body weighted with plastic pellets. Wired fingers. Cotton fabric body, wool stuffing. Hair is three shades dark brown, rust and pumpkin fine mohair yarn, sewn and twisted and into a sculptural form. Features created with acrylic paint, pigma pen, Prisma color pencils. Lips, eyebrows, lids, flair of nostrils and fingernails hand stitched with Gutterman’s and Sulky thread. Highlight and shadow create depth.
“Stump” skirt has an arrangement of small white wool felt flowers buds and leaves accented with seed beads creating a three dimensional element to the front of the skirt. Batik print skirt and jacket with a peplum at the waist. The hat is an elaborate construction of wool felt flowers, seed beads and folded felt. She holds a basket handmade from waxed linen holding an arrangement of wool felt flowers. OOAK
