Each art piece sewn and then hand appliqued to face. Hand embroidery as well as the tassel being hand made. I strongly believe that if you are creating one-of-a-kind pieces, it becomes more authentic if you create each embellishment. It adds a bit more of your uniqueness to the piece! When I do use pre made trims, they are all vintage.

Symbolism: Being the divine mythical animal, the Dragon can ward off wandering evil spirits, protect the innocent and bestow safety to all that hold his emblem. The Dragon is courage its self. The Chinese Dragon is look upon as the ultimate symbol of good fortune and blessings. The Dragon Story Hat is imbued with these qualities.

When creating everything is about balance. In the colors used, design, even in the visual aspect of the details as well as the entire piece.
In this case even the symbolism needed balance. The Dragon is male and needs a female counter balance-as the Phoenix.
For the interior I used a red silk brocade that I had purchased when I was in China. Here again, balance, in color. The complementary or opposite color of aqua is a sherbet orange, I decided on Chinese red. I love the shock of red hidden beneath the black of the hat base.

Life Lesson: We need to be reminded that we each hold our own self-confidence.
I find when we can connect to what is true with us, it encourages our hearts to beat stronger and to discover our fire within, and we then able to stand taller both physically and spiritually.
