These 17 mosaics were specifically made for the UNO Durham Science Center. These works were inspired by the five major disciplines taught at this building: chemistry, astronomy, math, geology, and geography. Subject matter of the works ranges from the Milky Way, to the Golden Ratio, to the atom. I also focused on regional features such as the Nebraska windmills and Chimney Rock, knowing of their importance to the landscape and culture of the area. The mosaics were produced in my studio in New York’s Hudson Valley and installed in geometric clusters that create a dialogue with the building’s educational areas of study. The material is a range of types of glass coming from Portland, Oregon, Mexico, and Italy.
