Easy as Pie

Who doesn't like pie? This collage painting of a pie started as an exercise in still life, exploring the contrast in colors between crust, plate and cherries. But since collage is a slow process, songs about cherry pies, and American pie, and Southern pies... and nostalgic remembrances of baking pies and eating pies... This pie, thankfully, has no calories...although the recipe that accompanies it does.
