One of a kind silk scarf, printed by hand. Original cyanotype photogram of bracken fern on 5mm weight pongee silk. Botanical designs are made using fresh flowers and leaves gathered sustainably on Vancouver Island. Approximately 11 x 57 inches.

Dynamic colors are a range of blue, purple and white with splashes of pale green and yellow. Sheer featherlight pongee appears darker when layered. Pairs beautifully with a wide range of clothing palettes. Cyanotype scarves really shine with earth tones, timeless neutrals, and pastels. Photos were taken in natural light for the most accurate representation. Please note that colors vary from screen to screen.

Pure silk scarves are soft against the skin with a subtle sheen. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Always elegant. This scarf has hand-rolled hems. Organic edges that are not perfectly straight are part of the charm; they are not defects.

About Cyanotype
Cyanotype, also called sun printing, was the first form of photography. UV light sensitive chemicals are brushed onto a surface. Objects are arranged on top, which block light from reaching the surface when it is placed in the sunshine. Classic prints are cyan blue and white. Effects and color variations are achieved by altering the interaction of chemistry, light exposure, and manipulation of layers. No dyes, ink, or paint were used. Care
Caring for your cyanotype silk scarf is simple with a couple of best practices to prevent fading or discoloration. Wash by hand in cool water, using a gentle phosphate-free soap, such as castile. Lay flat on a towel to dry. Cover with a damp press cloth. Lightly iron on the silk setting. Roll or loosely fold, then store out of direct sunlight when not in use. Care instructions are tucked into each gift box.

Gift box and Shipping
Scarves arrive in a white gift box, tied with a teal satin ribbon. Care instructions are tucked inside. Rather than fold delicate scarves flat, each one is packaged with layers of tissue to minimize creasing. Scarves can be worn as soon as they arrive, without the need to steam or press. On request, a personalized note can be written to the recipient on your behalf.
