Tour of the South Rim is part of my “trip” around Arizona series – a collection of triptychs. Instead of a single image divided into three panels, as is typical in triptychs, I use this format to show three different vantage points of an area. So my triptych is a collection of three separate paintings in a single framework.

This triptych shows three viewpoints along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon -a mile deep, up to 18 miles wide, and encompassing 277 miles, the canyon's layered bands of colorful rock reveal millions of years of geologic history with unmatched vistas from the rim.
